Key West

Key West

Our recent trip to Key West did not disappoint! Starting the day off in Key West includes a great breakfast at either Blue Heaven or Banana Cafe! You really can't go wrong with either choice. The atmosphere is fun at Blue Heaven and they have great Eggs Benedict choices along with some killer banana bread. Banana Cafe has excellent food near the Sothern Most Point. Try the Frenchy Egg Sandwich!

After breakfast we enjoyed taking in some tourist stops each day! Ernest Hemingway's house is a great choice if you want to try to picture yourself writing great novels from his studio. It isn't for people that are allergic to cats though. However, if you are a cat lover... this place is literally crawling with them!

Of course, Duval Street is a great place to hear live music, people watch, grab some lunch or dinner, or have some adult beverages - Not necessarily in that order! Our favorite spot for people watching and live music is Willie T's! Had to get the sandwich at Sloppy Joe's! Hogs Breath Saloon, Smoked Tuna, Irish Kevin's, and so many other places called for our participation!

Our adventures off Duval Street were fruitful. Dog lovers need to check out Hank's Hair of the Dog Saloon. Excellent atmosphere! Of course you have to follow the locals to Green Parrot!

Here are some other great places to check out. Half shell raw bar, Hogfish Bar and Grill (Stock Island), Burdines Waterfront Grill and Bar (Marathon) has some crazy good french fries. The fries at Burdines should be illegal!

We really enjoyed catching sunsets while listening to live music at Sunset Pier. All I could think of is Jimmy Buffet's song "Tin Cup Chalice" while sitting at the bar enjoying a cold one. Speaking of Jimmy B - We definitely observed a woman going crazy on Caroline Street one night.

In summary - Key West - it doesn't suck...y'all!  Cheers!
